Themes and features

    • MoinMoin can be even made to look like MediaWiki. And I am interested to know which features (besides sensible tables or templates) are missing in MoinMoin. See also Themes for MoinMoin (http://moinmoin.wikiwikiweb.de/ThemeMarket).
      • MediaWiki's template and category functionality is more advanced than moin's, and generally MediaWiki link handling (no 'which pages link here' functionality afaik). Gabriel Wicke 11:45, 24 Oct 2005 (CEST)

fault tolerant wiki

How are you thinking of doing "live replication"?

I want to build a fault-tolerant wiki -- "A wiki where users don't even notice when any one machine is unplugged". Can you help? I have a few notes posted at FailSafeWiki (http://wikifeatures.wiki.taoriver.net/moin.cgi/FailSafeWiki). Please tell me if you think of a better way. --DavidCary 12:04, 6 Sep 2006 (UTC)

Gabriel, I just dropped by to say that I've learned a lot about CSS and HTML from looking at your Monobook code while customizing [www.liquidben.com/wiki my own wiki]! Also, someone nailed you with a tonne of porn links in here. Folks say it's against the wiki spirit, but you might want to shut down anonymous registration or otherwise limit it. But that's just my two cents.

Some questions

  • Could you name some wikis as reference customers?
  • Right now you are a student. When you've finished uni, you are likely to get a regular job. Will your hosting service then be ceased?
